Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Oncológicas

The Spanish National Cancer Centre (CNIO), combines both basic, applied and clinical cancer research in an integrated fashion. Within CNIO the Structural Biology and BioComputing Programme develops a comprehensive activity in cancer genome analysis, including the application of bioinformatics technology to complex data sets in collaboration with various international consortia including European ENFIN systems biology network, the NIH ENCODE consortium, the new Blueprint epigenomics EU project and the organization of the European Bioinformatics Infrastructure, ELIXIR.

Prof. Valencia group together with the Bioinformatics unit lead by David Pisano and the CNIO node of the Spanish National Bioinformatics Institute participate in the CLL-ICGC consortium. These CNIO groups provide support to the consortium integrated database, contribute to the development of the basic genome analysis pipelines and develop integrated approaches for the systems level analysis of the resulting data.
